MONZA, Italy -- Nico Rosberg claimed a comfortable second victory in as many weeks after leading Lewis Hamilton across the line at the Italian Grand Prix. The race looked set to be a straight fight between the Mercedes teammates and title rivals, but a slow getaway by Hamilton at the start meant Rosberg led into Turn 1. Hamilton finished the first lap in sixth position and saw his hopes of a comeback slip away in the opening ten laps after getting stuck behind Valtteri Bottas. With his main rival out of the equation, Rosberg turned in a faultless drive to win, cutting Hamiltons championship lead to just two points. The huge pace advantage of Mercedes and the two-stop strategies of the Ferrari pair meant Hamilton eventually had a fairly routine drive back to second, but it will be a disappointing result for the world champion after an utterly dominant weekend up until Sunday afternoon.Sebastian Vettel rounded off the podium to the delight of the crowd, beating teammate Kimi Raikkonen to a place on the final step. Daniel Ricciardo beat Valtteri Bottas to fifth position, with the Finn finishing ahead of Max Verstappen in the other Red Bull. Sergio Perez, Felipe Massa and Nico Hulkenberg rounded off the top ten to keep Williams and Force Indias fight for fourth a close one.Story of the raceHamilton appeared to get bogged down off the line, getting passed by both Ferraris, Bottas and Ricciardo into Turn 1. Though he soon dispatched Ricciardo at Curva Grande he had difficulty getting past Bottas, equipped with a Williams with a high straight-line speed and with super-soft tyres. After several laps of holding back to look after his tyres Hamilton got by on lap 10.Hamilton did not need to pass both Ferraris on track as the red cars both pitted in front of him, happy to stick to a two-stop strategy to keep Bottas Williams at bay. He emerged from his only stop behind both Ferrari drivers but was soon released back into second position when they made their final stops. Despite clearly pushing in the final stint and running deep at the first chicane Hamilton never came close to even challenging Rosberg for the lead out in front. The Ferrari drivers were in a race of their own for third and fourth, which was settled when Vettel emerged from his second stop marginally ahead of the Finn. Behind that, Daniel Ricciardo caught and passed Valtteri Bottas for fifth late on after taking on an alternate strategy. Both men took super-soft and then soft for their opening two stints, but while Bottas took on softs at his final stint Ricciardo moved onto the super-softs. That helped him catch and pass the Finn in the closing stages.Max Verstappen finished as he qualified, though he nearly came to blows with Sergio Perez late on as the pair diced for seventh at the Roggia chicane. Perez settled for eighth, while Felipe Massa fought back from 11th to split Perez and Hulkenberg for ninth.Romain Grosjean finished a lap down in 11th, ahead of Jenson Button in 12th. Esteban Gutierrez failed to build on his impressive qualifying performance with a poor start from 10th which saw him running at the back of the field after one corner, meaning his wait for a first point of 2016 continues. Fernando Alonso finished a frustrating afternoon in 14th -- the Spaniard had seemed confused about McLarens strategy at mid distance, before appearing to laugh at a radio message that he was racing Gutierrez late in the race.Carlos Sainz, Marcus Ericsson and Kevin Magnussen took the next positions, while Manor rookie Esteban Ocon recorded his first F1 finish, albeit two laps down in 18th. Daniil Kvyats horrible run of bad luck continued as he retired on lap 36. Pascal Wehrlein pulled over to retire eight laps earlier.Jolyon Palmer and Felipe Nasr were early retirements after tangling on the second lap. Dicing for position, Nasr appeared to squeeze Palmer on the exit of Turn 2 and the two men made contact. Both men retired soon afterwards, though Nasr soon had to return to the race in order to pit and serve a five-second penalty for the incident so it did not carry over to the next race in Bradley Chubb Jersey . CINCINNATI -- AJ McCarron will be watching from the sideline this time -- at least, thats what the Bengals hope -- when Von Miller and company go after the quarterback.Denver, too, will have a different signal caller from the one who led it to a pivotal win over the Bengals last Dec. 28.In most other ways, their rematch on Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium feels familiar. The Bengals (1-1) and Broncos (2-0) are doing the same things on offense and defense. They were so closely matched in December that the game went to overtime, with Denver pulling out a 20-17 win when McCarron -- filling in for the injured Andy Dalton -- fumbled a snap in overtime. That victory clinched a playoff spot for Denver, which went on to win the Super Bowl.It cost the Bengals a chance for a first-round bye, and they wound up hosting and losing to Pittsburgh at home -- their fifth straight year with a first-round flameout. The rematch could turn on the two biggest changes.Dalton is back after recovering from a broken right thumb that sidelined him for the last four games. He leads the NFL with 732 yards after two games -- a product partly of Cincinnatis inability to run effectively -- and has settled in after his breakout 2015 season. Its just a different team when Andys out there, Miller said. He has full hold of the offense. Hes able to make all the throws. Hes able to run the ball. Hes been there six years and when Andys in there, its just a different team. Theyve got No. 14 back this year and their passing is looking explosive.Theres a new face on the other side, too. Brock Osweiler led the Broncos comeback in Denver last December and was later replaced by Peyton Manning, who retired after winning the Super Bowl.Trevor Siemian has won his first two starts -- both in Denver -- and now gets his first start on the road. Siemian has completed 68 percent of his passes with one touchdown and three interceptions for a below-average passer rating of 74.4.His biggest problems have come when the Broncos are close to the goal line and everything is magnified.I think were doing some good things and were really, really close, Siemian said. Were knocking on the door to being a special grroup, finishing those drives.ddddddddddddWeve had a good bit of success, which is encouraging and Im excited to be a part of it.Some things to watch on Sunday:AGGIES HEAD-TO-HEAD: Bengals right tackle Cedric Ogbuehi makes his third NFL start. Hell be trying to block Miller, a former Texas A&M teammate who was the Super Bowl MVP and had three sacks last Sunday in a win over Indianapolis.I love him to death, and I feel like hes kind of the little brother, Miller said. I taught him everything I know pass-rush wise. I coached him up.ON THE RUN: The Broncos have taken a lot of the pressure off their young quarterback by running the ball very well. C.J. Anderson leads the NFL with seven runs of at least 10 yards. The Broncos are averaging 141 yards and 4.7 yards per carry, among the best in the league. And theyre going against a defense that has allowed the most yards rushing in the league.GOING NOWHERE: By contrast, Cincinnati has gotten next to nothing out of its run game. Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard have combined for a total of 95 yards in the first two games. Cincinnati ranks second-to-last in the league in rushing, with its longest run only 12 yards. Its a point of emphasis, Dalton said. Were not running the ball how we want to.FAST START: The Bengals opened that game in Denver last season with touchdown drives of 80 and 90 yards. McCarron went 9 of 12 for 84 yards with a touchdown and two scrambles for 22 yards during the drives, which lasted 15 and 13 plays. Nobody else did that against the NFLs top-ranked defense all season. Dalton will be looking to get ahead at the outset again.FINALLY HOME: The Bengals opened the season with consecutive road games for the fourth time in franchise history. They were only 6-3 at Paul Brown Stadium last season, losing a Monday night game against Houston and two games against the Steelers, including the 18-16 playoff meltdown.---AP Pro Football Writer Arnie Stapleton in Englewood, Colorado, contributed to this report.---AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP-NFL ' ' '
